What we do
Mission
Story Box Architecture PLLC is based in Seattle and provides architecture and historic consulting services for the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
Story Box Architecture PLLC cares about people and their stories. Our mission is to serve those who are working to improve their community through the built environment. We aim to protect places that matter, connect people with spaces that support their goals, and prepare existing buildings for the future.

Services

Architecture
Our Architectural services focus on existing buildings and include preservation, adaptive reuse, tenant improvements and additions. Our work starts with a full understanding of the existing building and your needs. We provide design, consultant coordination, permitting, regulatory compliance, and construction administration.

Historic Consulting
Historic consulting services include recommendations on rehabilitation best practices, condition assessments, window surveys, research, presentations, and historic tax credit and valuation assistance. We are happy to work directly with owners or as a consultant to other architects and design professionals.

Feasibility Consulting
Feasibility services are intended for owners or tenants who are trying to understand the opportunities of their existing building, potential land use or building code concerns around changing uses, and other possible impacts from future work. We provide information to help with your big decisions.

What is a Story Box?
Behind the Name
Story Box refers to the idea that buildings are complex boxes where the stories of our lives play out.
In storytelling, a "story box" is a collection of items that provide visually impaired children a tactile, multi-sensory way to experience a narrative. For example, a piece of smooth silk helps represent a princess dress.
Buildings provide multi-sensory experiences on a grand scale, and through good design, they enhance our world.
